Food very variable & a bit overpriced given its quality. High staff turnover. Great views across the bay.Update. They changed the system a year ago. You now pay for you drinks then queue while they are made. I've been queuing for 8 mins so far today...

Went for a visit and decide to have a cuppa and bite to eat...I was staggered by the extortionate prices... 4.50 for a sausage bun..we got 2 plus 2 teas and 2 small bottles of pop for the children. ..Total 16...the tea was awful it tasted peppery and cheap...Needless to say never again ...we couldn't afford to !!

My partner and I went for breakfast on Bank holiday Monday, I ordered poached eggs on toast and my partner ordered the full English. The waitress arrived with two plates of poached eggs on toast and a full English, I only ordered one poached eggs on toast! Then I cut into my poached eggs which were like rocks! Obviously done in a microwave and were inedible, so I took them back and asked if they could be re-done. Eventually, poached eggs on toast reappeared, with the toast so untoasted, they must have just shown the bread to the toaster and the eggs even more solid than the first lot!!! My partner's fried eggs were totally solid too. If whoever cooks the eggs doesn't know how to poach an egg, why have such a selection of them on the menu??? Very disappointed and expensive for what it was. The other odd thing was that they put the eggs on the toast and put two butter pat's on the side? Why not just butter the toast and put the eggs on? The ordering system is very odd too, order drinks with one person and food with another. Won't be back.

This used to be our favourite cafe, but no longer; we haven't been since last summer and decided to go today and give it a go, the overall experience was poor. People who ordered after us got their meals before us, by the time the meals came, my wife's tea had gone cold, had to return to the counter to get the tea (which should have come with my fish and chips) and no bread came with the fish and chips (which should have been included,) it was pointed out to a member of staff but I still received no bread and no apology. Getting drinks separately is a poor way of serving customers. Previous staff were a pleasure to deal with but this no longer applies and I wasn't on my own with a complaint others had similar issues with the drinks.

Good varied menu in the cafe, nice view of the estuary too. Garden centre staff are very helpful. Lovely garden area they are developing at the back of the site which really shows off many of the plants they sell.
